Precedents
First Prototype
Prototype 2: Had shape and folding but can't hold liquids. Also the shoelaces was too big and did not close or open easily.
Video of opening and closing
Attempted to use other materials, fabric and wood. It didn't work, didn't hold shape as preferred(shown on right) and not one solid flat surface, difficult to cut on a not solid surface
Due to the Camp-a-lot's unique style, it can fold and unfold to double the size. Due to the cylindric shape, it can hold materials and liquids. The silver foils represents the material of a aluminum can, which can heat up, is thin, and lightweight. When unfolded it stays one solid and flat surface.
Final Model
Scaled to real size.
This fold keeps the shape flat when stretched but when closed, folds to make walls to trap liquid.
With the fold, when folded it can hold liquids to drink or heat.
Back view (unfolded)
The twine flows through the holes to close and open more easily
Added grip on the bottom so when cutting something, it won't move.
You can uncoil and recoil depending on what you want.
