Our opportunity is to give people a way to keep there phone safe and be helpful to our environment at the same time

Around 400 million pounds of plastic are used to make phone cases each year

Midterm Feedback 

For the Midterm project we created a Clementine peel mixture

We later then decided to change our bio material

Our new bio material uses Orange peels instead

Some of the steps we took that led us to our finale product

We explored a couple of Ideas like the phone case, a computer keys cover and shoe soles

We took these Ideas to paper sketched out what they might look like and which one best suited our

Precedents

What inspired us to this business almost everyone you know has on iPhone leaving us with a pretty big market to work with. That attracted us to go into this market so we can be open and to try to give us a chance to make a very good product.

The first step is our product it to gather materials we need number 1 gather orange peels. We can go to restaurants and gather peoples thrash. Number 2 water, glycerol and gelatin. number 3 mix all together and heat up. Number 4 get all bubbles out and pour into mold.

• heat orange peals in oven for X amount of minutes.
• once dehydrated, crush the orange peels into powdery material.
• add X amount of pomegranate to powder for pigment

So many people and companies are using plastic that very gets reused.

Out at sea, plastic is deadly. Marine animals like turtles can choke on plastic bags mistaken for jellyfish, seabirds get entangled in drifting fishing gear, and larger animals like whales can starve because their stomachs are so full of plastic debris they've eaten. Micro-plastics can be just as fatal.

Opportunity

Bob likes to go to the spa to destress and is always having to throw away his plastic flips that kill the earth. He also has very smelly and sweaty feet after spending hours in the spa.

Solution Make an environmentally healthy decomposable flip flop that is made from natural orange peal that makes bobs feet smell great.

Our final product ended up not working as we planned. We didn't fill up the mold all the way with the biomaterial. But if we did it again we would fill it all the way
